WhatDaFox: Rebased - Episode 0 - Trailer
Raw transcript of Episode 0 - Trailer from WhatDaFox: Rebased podcast.
Hi there folks,
Welcome to this introduction episode of WhatDaFox: Rebased. This is my first time recording a podcast so bear with me, there will be some evolution happening along the way. To kick this off, let me introduce myself. I'm Valentin. I'm a developer and entrepreneur, I live in Vancouver, BC.
A little bit about my background: I started my career as a developer in 2012, working for a small agency in Paris. And then in 2013 I moved from France to Vancouver, BC. Over the years I worked at multiple companies as a web developer, sometimes as a lead developer. I've worked on many different projects, eCommerce websites, marketing websites, SaaS applications, MVPs, a lot of different stuff.
Currently I work full time for a telecommunication company here in Vancouver, I work as an API developer primarily working with Node.js.
On my spare time, I also have two major projects that I'm working on. I'm working on Variate, which is a component-based split-testing engine or AB-testing engine for modern web application frameworks like React or Vue.js.
And the second project is Speakbox. It's a mental health collaborative care platform. It works on mobile and on the web, and it basically connects patients with their care provider.
The rest of the time I like to watch a bunch of TV shows, I sing a lot and I play guitar. In fact, I used to be in a band back in France.
The band was called Hundred Miles. We recorded and released an album, in 2013 actually, available on all the streaming platforms, like Apple Music, Spotify. The album is called "Just a Matter of Time". So if you like alternative rock, feel free to check it out.
Actually one of the guitarist of this band, which is a friend of mine, is the musician behind the introduction music of this podcast. So thanks to him and you can check out his music on Bandcamp, I'll put a link in the description.
So the goal of this podcast is to be an extension of my blog. So I have a blog, https://whatdafox.com where I share a lot of my thoughts and like try to create a discussion around various topics. I don't know, related to the tech industry, like working as developer, being an entrepreneur, all the tech that we use day to day. And I'd like to open to discussion and actually like talk to people on this podcast. So feel free to contact me if you want to.
That's it for today. If you want to read the transcript of this episode, I'll actually put it on my blog, which I will do every time I release an episode so, feel free to check it out. And if you have a topic that you'd like to discuss or a project you want to share, if you like to have a chat with me on this podcast or just share anything you want, or just say hi, even, feel free to reach out to me on Twitter, I'll put a link in the description as well, and, yup, that's it for today.
See you later.
